Is there any effect on fps with the different muzzle brakes?  

Before I pick up a Tapco AK74 brake, I'm thinking there has to be a catch...

I would imagine the AK-74 style break is alot louder than the slant and no break if shooting with no hearing protection.

Great video!  I am looking for a brake and this video helped me choose which one to get!  Those Canon HDSLR cameras are great.  Although sound is definitely not it's strong suit.  Use a directional mic on it if you can.

You could also say that not using a muzzle brake in the test is your "control." When trying to prove which brake functions the best, you also must show that they actually do something. Nice video.
