Any one used these? What's did you think of them? I really love the profile over the ultimak lower rails. But I have also herd that they make the groups open up. As much as I know many here hat nutnfancy, he was showing his go from 5MOA with the rail down to 2-3 with out. Has anyone shot for groups with and with out?

I have them and think they are great.  I didnt try comparing my groups before and after, but they are pretty good with them on.  I honestly can't think of a reason why these rails/hand guards would change the groups one way or the other.  It is not interfering with the action, affecting the bullet or chamber, changing the barrel, or anywhere close to the muzzle.  I suppose if you are rapid firing and have a better or worse grip with one hand guard vs. another that could have an effect of reduced accuracy if you dont get back on target fast enough.  If you over tighten the top cover bracket it can put the gas tube out of alignment, and make the bolt hang a little when you're charging it, but I dont think even that would change a whole lot.  They seem to vent pretty well, so if anything that would keep the barrel cooler.

I have them on my SGL-20 because I wanted to mount a light.  I get 2" - 3" groups at 100 yds.  That's what I was getting before I put on the rails.  They lock up tight and I'm happy with them.

OK cool. Are these rails good enough to mount an optic to??

Yes... that is kind of the point with them.  In fact if you look at their web site you'll see that they offer different top covers that replace the top rail with a base plate designed to fit a few specific optics.  I dont yet have one of those special top covers, but I do have a red dot optic on the standard rail, and I've put about a thousand rounds through with no issue.  In fact, if you get a reliable QD mount for your optic you can remove/reattach with no issue.  These things lock in pretty tight and are secured to the barrel with a secure mounting system.  The rails themselves are the secured using additional screws and everything has loctite so nothing should move.

Yes, they are good rails.  Here is mine on an AK 74 with the dedicated US Palm top cover sporting a Primary Arms Micro. Mine shoots the same size groups with this rail, with a Ultimak or with no rail.

Don't feel bad, I sold my AR about 4 years ago and have never looked back. IMO there's nothing that an M4 style rifle can do that a 5.45 AK can't do as good or better.
