I'm asking beause they appear to be the base guns from which my new SBR was built from. I know what I was told the kit was, but I've gotten a lot of conflicting information, including the fact that there was no such thing as an 11" barreled AK production gun. The new SBR. I traded for it; it wasn't built to my order. It is unfired, apparently built from an unused parts kit.

You can tell by the combination front sight / gas block, which allows the use of standard AKM handguards. Looks like someone just drilled a hole in the receiver and added the underfolder and Chinese pistol grip...and they did a real nice job. That's an awsome little SBR'd Draco and it makes me jealous. Here's my Draco for comparison: http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/ae26/shonuff_bucket/Draco/IMG_0019.jpg Check out the AK Pistol page for more details on adding a stock to the Draco. ETA: After reading the above post about the FSB being different and the different rivet pattern at the rear trunion, as well as tha gas tube being slightly different, it's most likely that you don't have a modified Draco, but a custom build. Any markings on the receiver? It's a custom build; NDS receiver, marked with the builder's info (Wellco Arms). I just want to order a different FH for it, and the guy that traded it to me told me it was Bugy with 24x1.5 threads. I'll need to get ahold of the builder to make sure. Just showed up at my dealer, so I'll have the F4 out on monday, |

Check out K-var for some options. I'm no AK-74 expert, don't even have one, so don't buy anything based solely on my advise. |

Just trying to find one for a reasonable price. |

Draco is the name of a Romanian manufactured pistol made for Century Arms. The rear trunnion is a underfolder trunnion, so they are very easy to make into a underfolder. MAKAK47, Good eye, I didn't even spot that until you pointed it out. FWIW: Not all "Draco's" have an underfolder trunion.. |

I have a WASR 10/63 KR carbine, which is basically a Draco fitted with a 4" barrel extension, a donkey dong grip and a side-folder stock. They were briefly imported by Century as the AIM. They have the same gas tube/front site placement as yours.
They are based on the Romanian Pistol Mitralieră model 1990, the krink version. They came with side folding stocks (or no stock at all). Whatever it is, your sbr is very unique and a beauty! |
