I recently acquired an Arsenal SGL-106 rifle and have been most impressed with it. What is the origin of these rifles? I know they're from Bulgaria and have chrome lined barrels. Were they brought in as parts kits before the cut off for import of these barrels? |

Quoted: Use a mild cleaner like Breakfree CLP or Ballistol, or the finish will come right off. A lot of people found this out the hard way, especially with the high-pressure spray cans like Breakfree's "Powder Blast" or Birchwood Casey's "Gun Scrubber". It was in this condition NIB from Arsenal/K-Var but its under the foregrip / UltiMak so I'm really not bothered by it. Other than that minor (unseen) imperfection its a really nice rifle. I was really more interested in its origin. |

SLRs are brought in in a sporting rifle configuration, US parts are added after they arrive to make them evil. So they are similar to a Russian Saiga in their original form? I haven't seen them come off the boat, but I thought they may be less "complete" than a regular Saiga, which is destined to get sold as is. I guessing some of the parts are like the Glock plastic target sights that come off before they get sold. Useless escept for getting through customs. |

Quoted: Quoted: I bought an SLR-106 on Monday, I will pick it up from my FFL next Monday. I have an SGL-21 and am really looking forward to the SLR. Now I need to get some mags. What is better the SLR or SGL? I won't get my SLR for a few more days so I can't say right now. I would say that they are both quality rifles but the SLR does have a folding stock. |
