I am looking to scope my Saiga SGL-21 7.62 X 39 rifle. What do you recommend ???

Something in a 1.5-6x or 1-4x should be all the scope you need, combined with a good red dot.  The side mount I have returns to zero nicely as well.

A 4x24 POSP with the 400 meter Simonov reticle does the job nicely.  The chevrons are calibrated for the 7.62x39 round.  Sight the first chevron in at 100 meters, and the other two chevrons are automatically on at 200 and 300 meters.  POSPs offer excellent value and are rock solid scopes.  Link

Looks like a pretty good AK scope, but looks pretty big for a standard 16" AK.

If you look closely at the pics of the scope on the rifle, you'll see those are pics of the wrong scope.  Kalinka's error.  I own one and there is nothing big about it.

I was looking at those, but aren't they a little high for a scope?  It looks like the best you could do was a chin weld on the stock to shoot with it up that high.  Do you use an add-on cheek riser on the stock or something?

I get a good cheek weld with mine, but I have only used it on Yugo M70B1s and my M72.  Yugos have slightly higher combs than other variants, so I may have a slight advantage there.  I doubt there is a big difference however.  Pic of my 4x24 POSP on my M72:

Kalinka makes a low centered mount that will give a decent cheek weld with a standard stock.
