A few questions about these rifles for those who have them.
1 - Do they work? Are they ammo sensitive; as in, will they only work with the really expensive high velocity stuff (somewhat negating the whole purpose of a .22) 2 - The muzzle nut on the front, is it a standard AK thread? As in, can I put other devices on there? 3 - The scope rail on the side, is it plastic? If so, will it support a K-VAR KV-04 with an Aimpoint? (that's what I have on my SGL-20) And overall, for those who have one, do you like it overall? |
| I've always wanted one of those, but every time I've handled one, the feel of it convinced me otherwise. How hard is it to make an AK clone out of plastic, some metal, and a little wood. Many airsoft AK's have a more authentic (and sturdy) look and feel. I just have not been impressed with the rifles when I held them. |

There is a GSG post over in the Armory Section. You should check there with folks who actually own one. I don't and can't offer any opinions on it.
My buddy had a GSG MP5 and I did not like it cause it jammed alot. Fun to shoot when it wasn't jamming. Best think about a buddy owning crap. You shoot it till it jams and just hand it back to him GSG |

I bought one back in January. finished the furniture dark red with some tung oil and never fired it. I wasn't very excited about the receiver looking about %50 like an AK and %50 like something else.. I bought it as an impulse, and regretted it immediately. so I sold it unfired in the box with nice red furniture, and made a few bucks off it, mostly because there weren't a lot of them around yet and I found someone locally who 'HAD" to have it..
The nut I never took off, so I'm not sure of that. The scope rail IS plastic and it sucks, it is just a place holder until you buy the aluminum one from GSG. It's not even the right dimensions, so a scope mount will not fit properly anyway. I don't miss it, and I'm still not sure how they run, but I don't really care, considering they want $500 for them and I can buy a 7.62 AK for $350 now that the prices have come down again... |
