for instance, those with WASR front sight canting issues could replace the whole setup and use a better one, like the flip up Magpul sights, also, it might be possible to co-witness depending on how you set it up! Just ideas!

It's one step closer to turning a WASR into an M4

Yeah, if you want an AR, just buy an AR.

Besides, you would have to find or make a way of mounting it.  Then you will have to find one of the correct height, and then address the rear sight to match.  Fixing a canted front sight is much easier and cheaper than doing all of this.  Besides, what make a Magpul sight any better than the one that comes stock on the AK.  Mainly what you would be getting is a shorter sight radius.

Exactly.

No, it won't work. Not without making some of your own parts, more or less. And what would be the point? How is that sight "better" than the stock sight? I could see a different rear sight if you don't like the tangent sights.

How would a plastic magpul flip-up front sight be in any way an advantage over a steel AK sight? Due to the nature of the AKs design, the iron aren't in the way of optics and except for a lower 1/3 with the ultimak cannot cowitness anyway, so there's no advantage to flipping the front sight down.

If you shorten the sight radius you can blame the rifle when you miss.
After all, the US is a nation of riflemen and all Americans are born as skilled rifle shots. When a bullet fails to strike where intended, it has to be due to the equipment.

My thoughts exactly. Nothing wrong with the AK front sight, so what would be the advatange?  I trust steel more that plastic, plus you would loose the detent pin for MD retention.

Now, when we get to the AK rear site I can understand wanting to change somethings.  Personally I do much prefer aperture rear sights, especially since my eyes are getting older and the apertures make it easier for me to see the front post.  I do plan to try the Tech-Sights.  Although there are a couple of things about them that I'm not crazy about, they will give me the aperture rear and a longer sight radius.  Does this mean I really want an AR?  Nah, already got that covered, just want a better rear for the AK.

Do it dude.  I mounted 2, and only didn't get a third because I'm using a Krebs rail w/scope on that rifle.  I did switch to A2 apertures and put on the A1->A2 finger dial.  Soooooo much better sight picture.

I THINK that was his point. Asking how/if anyone has translated that to an AK.
