Well the bag finally came in. I ordered it from LAPG which combined with a 10% coupon I had, offered the lowest price after shipping. Heres the link:http://www.lapolicegear.com/tactical...-drag-bag.html Unfortunately, LAPG didn't bother to tell me that the item was back ordered, so I ended up waiting 5 weeks for delivery.
I've heard the arguments for cheap chi-com, airsoft, copies, blah blah, etc. I don't really care. My patrol rifle is sheathed in an Eagle Industries soft case that gets drug around, thrown in the trunk of my CVPI, has been doused in same trunk by an errant fire extinguisher, etc. I'm very happy with how well its taken the beating over the 3 years i've owned it. That being said, I got this new bag simply to tote the AK underfolder back and forth to the range. I wanted something that didn't scream GUN ask I walked out of my house to my car, but I'm also not too concerned with the whole discrete as a guitar or keyboard either. I think this bag will serve my purposes well. The bag has molle webbing over nearly every square inch save the lid and bottom. stitching seems to be fine, there are no loose or uneven seams that my untrained eye can see. The entire exterior shell of the bag is Cordura (unknown what weight). The entire interior is nylon, but is the smooth shiny type. Sandwiched between these layers feels to be about 1/4 inch of stiff padding. The entire exterior of the bag is padded, except for the lid. The bag also comes with a removable padded sleeve that bisects the compartment the whole length. The sleeve is held in place by Velcro that runs the length of the sleeve. The sleeve is also sectioned the whole length, so when inserted in the bag, there's a total of 3 padded compartments, not just 2. Interior measurements are about 27x10x4 (ish). As the bags padded, it holds its rectangular shape just fine. The padding also helps break up the outline of whatever is contained within. The unpadded lid is attached by 4 side release buckles. At the opening of the bag is a storm flap that's about 6-8 inches long. You roll this flap up, then buckle the lid down over top of it. On the back side, there are 2 removable backpack straps. These straps can be tucked into a nearly full length pouch that has velcro closures at the top and bottom. I'm not a fan of the flaps as with the back pack straps deployed, the velcro flaps hang loose and dig into your back. There's also a nylon shoulder strap that attaches to one of the sides of the bag via simple metal hooks. The metal buckles and tri-glides appear to be cheap pot metal. Unsure how long they'll hold up. Like I said, I got the bag to tote around my Polish Underfolder in the collapsed position. The gun with a 20 round magazine inserted fits in the bag just perfectly. It definitely wouldn't fit with a 30 rounder inserted. The padding breaks up the outline of the firearm. I had originally planned to get some molle mag pouches for the exterior. Instead, I kept the sleeve inserted in the main compartment, and just dropped the mags in there. They're separated from the gun and I've got the rifle with 20 rounder inserted, and 4 30 round mags all in the main compartment. Anyway if i did this correctly, there should be some pics attached. On a side note, I didn't try to see how well this back would fit a broken down AR as mine is secured at work. If i feel really motivated, I'll see what I can muster to get some info in that regard if requested. thanks Uploaded with ImageShack.us" />

| That looks great! A buddy of mine has a wholesale account with Condor. Everything we have gotten, so far, has been great. He did an order for me and and a bunch of my brother LEOs. Our biggest complaint was the order process. There was way too much backordering from Condor. We stared this process back in January and we are still waiting on some jackets. They promised May, but I got a sneaky feeling it is gonna be delayed, again. |
