Hello,

My local fun store has a FEG SA85M for sale. Its advertised at 99% and has the (appears to be) correct blonde furniture. It does not have a thumb hole stock so I'm assuming pre-ban??? Although it has a muzzle break and not a slant brake. No sign of a bayonet lug. The asking price is $495. I don't know anything about these rifles but it does, for some reason, sound like a good deal. Are these good rifles? Is the price a good one?

If the importer is Kassner, then that's a pre ban gun & a steal. If the importer is KBI, then it's a postban & was imported with the butthole stock. Still worth the $495 as either version was really well made. Either way, buy it. GARY N4KVE

most likely postban, if you dont see a bayo lug, but like n4kve said still a good buy. i would get it in a heartbeat.

Just make sure which version it is and that it complies with applicable laws. Not trying to be a stick in the mud, just that you never know what the previous owner might have changed out.

If you don't buy it please PM me the shop's contact information and I will buy it. Factory Hungarian rifles are among the nicest ever made. Chinese, Russian, Polish, don't even come close.

Maybe Finnish Valmet's are better.
