A lot of the build details are in my thread on theakforum here.

EDIT: Alright, I'm not feeling so lazy now, so I'll spill the beans

This is my latest homebuild, a "slabside" Yugo underfolder. It has a bent flat receiver, fully heat treated. Also, renewed flip up tritium sights, my own special customized G2 FCG, Ironwood funiture, and most importantly, a custom-to-fit virgin Bulgarian ak47 barrel.
BCG is polished, and the finish is semigloss black molyresin.

Beautiful chrome

That looks really nice man.  I love how the furniture turned out.. and of course, chrome lined barrel is a good bonus.

Can I have it?

Thanks! Would you believe that it's nothing more than yellow food coloring and polyurethane?

Oh, and no.

I believe a Yugo with a chrome bore would be the best AK made

I've been looking at ways of putting an optic on this rifle, and decided to experiment with a railed topcover.

I started with a galil topcover, hand trimmed it to fit the Yugo, and milled off the rear sight.
This should make a good base to put a small optic on. It is reinforced at the rear and has a flattened area on top. I plan to thread the recoil spring assembly for a small allen screw to push down on the topcover. Hopefully this will keep a good enough zero, I think it will.

Did a good bit of milling to the steel rail today, I'm planning on using an aimpoint comp m4 with the Larue mount, so I think I can shorten my picatinny rail a bit more. But before I do, I want to get the rifle on my mill and mic out the rail to see if it's parrellel with the barrel.
When I'm happy with it, I'm going to weld it on from the inside just like the original rear sight was done.

It'll be real cool if this works, but I still have the original topcover if it doesn't
What do you guys think?

Got the cover done...

It was more work than I thought. I caught hell trying to thread the recoil spring assembly; broke 2 taps

Here is it wearing Rube's T-1. It's awesome, I'll be getting an H-1 for it with the Larue mount

It's precision milled to be in line with the barrel, welded onto the Galil topcover. I didn't go overboard cleaning up the welds, theres just no reason for it. The bolt carrier doesn't hit it, so it's good enough.

There is a setscrew threaded into the recoil spring assembly which pushes the topcover down. It feels very rigid, but the true test will come tommorow when I shoot it

great idea using the galil top cover!!!  why did u decide to not use the thicker budged front trunion & 1.6mm rec?

Thanks! I think this one's gonna be my new favorite

Well, this Yugo kit is a slabside, it wasn't meant to have the bulged front trunnion or thick receiver. I believe it's one of the earlier underfolders.
I considered using a thick receiver, you might have seen the one I bent for my Chinese sidefolder, but I decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

Idea for you and also to create more work.....

Maybe slice off the last notch on the rail and have the rail taper at the same angle as the top cover. Might look a little cleaner at that area. Looks good though dont get me wrong.

I know, I know. I was gonna cut one more notch off the rail, but I left it because I couldn't mount one of my aimpoints on it that way I like flexibility

I might try and make an iron sight to clip on the back of the rail, but I'm finding I just don't like peep sights.
If I use a traditional AK style rear sight, the posts will have to be like 0.004-0.010 apart to keep the same perspective. That's gonna be tough to mill...
