I just got my new top cover for my Maadi today from Apex and it came covered it that sticky grease, what is the best stuff to get that off without messing up the cover finish? Thanks

Hot soapy water works pretty good.

Just oil it when you're done. BSW

I use G96 for every thing metal and wood it has never harmed anything.

Boiling water from a teakettle and a pair of pliers to hold the part over the drain. It'll strip off most all the grease, and be self-drying due to the heat as well.

If you want to be anal, "Purple Power" degreaser is about the best thing I've ever come across. It's just really powerful soap, but no solvents or anything toxic. The worst it will do is dry/chap the hell out of your hands if you use it without gloves. I use it to strip cosmoline and oil out of Milsurp/C&R rifle stocks even.
