I have a new new Saiga already converted. It has a scope mount on it that rides about 1" above rear iron sight(very high). It also came with a dragonov stock with cheek peice, that weilds up nicely for the scope use but too high for irons.
Question: I really like the Kvar looking solid plastic stocks look on these rifles but it will probably not be high enough weild for using the scope. Is there a happy medium? or do I need to get a lower scope mount to use the kvar stock (i don't like dragonovs). Can I drill the top of a Kvar stock to use the dragonov cheek peice? My problem is I don't know what products are out there in the way of stocks and mounts as I am new to AK/saiga's. Scrolling through the pictures here didn't help either. Lastly,what vendors carry the OD green plastic funiture besides Kvar? |

For the stock, K-VAR is going to give you the best.
If you want to go by price. Blackthorne Products I don't know if Tapco makes an OD green stockset, they do have OD green pistol grips. They make a black buttstock which I put on one Saiga conversion and it is decent. You may look around and see if they offer it in OD. Their handguards just don't eo it for me when I helped someone do some work on an AK they had that type. This is a K-VAR set I have. The top handguard looks twisted because the gas tube is tweaked.
