I am looking around for some aks for two friends of mine. They are looking for the best prices available. AIM surplus had some cheap Romanian ak 47s, but are now sold out. Any leads?
Thanks in advance. |

Cheapest are the WASR 10/63's. They shoot fine but just know that the fit and finish is not anywhere near your higher quality AK's.
Shop around, check Henderson defense http://shop.hendersondefense.biz/product.sc?productId=78&categoryId=4 Their certified WASR has been checked for the most common problems found with the wasr. From their website: Henderson Defense "Certified" WASR Rifles: We have gone through and inspected these rifles for straight rear sight bases, gas blocks and front sight bases. The magazine provided has been fitted to ensure proper lock up and removal. You won't have to worry about hand-inspecting this rifle prior to purchase because we took away the anxiety of ordering a WASR online. We have "certified" these 7.62x39 carbines to be sold online without concerns for the above reasons They cost a few more dollars, but it's well worth it. |

I have 2 WASR's- one came in excellent shape (no, really) the other has a canted rear sight base. I would now pay an extra $20-$30 for a squared away rifle. If cost is ALL they care about then roll the dice and go with J&G (or anyone else) but understand that is what you're doing. |
