| Where's the best/cheapest place to buy one of these and is there a specific model that is best? (I noticed there are double hook, single hook versions). Are there any accessories you need in addition to the trigger group itself? |
| Look under your trigger guard, if you see one notch you have a single spring trigger two notch's it's a double spring. You can find the Tapco triggers at many online firearm sites. In the small cleaning kit that comes with many AKs there is a small pin, it's used to hold the trigger and spring in place so you can drive the retaining pins through your rifles housing. |

I always wondered what difference does a double hooked trigger make versus a single hooked trigger? The AK originally had a double hook trigger. One hook was eliminated in the AKM to allow the installation of the hammer retarder/rate reducer/anti-bounce device. Double hook triggers seem lighter to me and the two I own have a measurably lighter pull than my single hook triggers. There are many people who feel the opposite is true. |
| I've installed two of the G2 single hook assemblies in my AK's both work great. Do yourself a big favor and buy the retainer plate that replaces the shepherds crook. It makes re-assembly a lot easier and if you have young kids keeps you from teaching them some words they probably shouldn't hear. The plate only costs a couple bucks and is well worth the money. |
