| Stupid question maybe. I was on Copes and was looking for AK 47 stripper clips and the mag. loading tool. Well I can't seem to find any AK stripper clips, but found some SKS ones. Is there any difference between an AK stripper and an SKS? I mean obviously they are the same round, but I didn't know if they would fit in the mag. loading tool or not. |

I mean I figured they would, but just wanted to make sure. I'd hate to have some parts that wouldn't work together you know? LOL. Now to find a website that has the stripper clips AND the stripper clip guide in stock.
I don't really wanna pay 10 bucks shipping for 8 bucks you know?? Found some stripper clips on eghey I'm watching. Only found one guide though and it's 8 bucks. |

In my experience, new stripper clips can be a pain. Once you have "broken the in" they pretty well. That being said, I almost never use them. I did order a case of Yugo where they are all on strippers though, just don't shoot that yet, have a ton of other ammo I'm shooting 1st. |

There's no such thing as AK strippers, only SKS.
And yeah, the Chinese made a loading tool that allows you to use SKS stripper clips to load AK mags, but IMO, it doesn't work very well at all. Still nice to keep some 7.62 on strippers for the SKS. Now the 5.45 strippers are probably the best ever designed. |
| When using the chinese loading tool and stripper clips if you have a problem with the rounds wanting to stick and not go into the mag just release some of the pressure on the rounds you're still trying to push in. Usually the rounds already in the mag tend to get themselves situated when not under tension and you can push the remaining rounds in with no problem. Works for me everytime. |

In my experience the rounds do not slide out of the strippers correctly with every loader I have ever tried to use. It seems as though they bind in the stripper and the entire thing just wants to jam up. I must be doing it wrong though... lol The body of the guide is longer (front to back) than the magazine, so it doesn't stay tight against the back of the magazine body. This causes problems because the cartridges hang up on the back of the magazine. You can solve this problem in one of two ways: 1. Hold the back of the guide tight against the back of the magazine when forcing the cartridges in. 2. Install a shim on the inside of the front of the body of the guide so the back is tight to the magazine body. The other problem you may be having involves the strippers themselves. The commercial Chinese imports available now do not work as well as the issue Chinese strippers that were imported with ammunition. IME about one half of the commercial ones bind up. That rarely happened with the issue strippers. |
