Just got back from the farm today and had a chance to shoot the AK74 for the first time... Cycled beautifully and everyone that shot it was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy with just irons. We were shooting at 100 yds. and the rifle for me is in need of the Larue Iron Dot, but the younger guys were shooting quite well and especially loved the sound. All shots were from the bench and many guys were there to sight in their Deer rifles as opening is near. On a sad note for me at least, Larue said six months out on the revised iron dot.... Good thing my 6920 with Eotec shot light out! But I must admit i like shooting the 74 as did everyone else and the price is right! Take Care, Asphyx

Good stuff. I just recently got my AKS-74 back from a builder and it these are without a DOUBT the best kind of AKs out there, IMHO. It's almost like a PERFECTED AK because it is very accurate AND very very reliable. In the Army, I would have NEVER wanted to carry an AK rifle as my service rifle. However, with an AK-74, I would totally be happy with that rifle being my service rifle. |

I'm just getting to know this rifle but it cycled beautifully and the simplicity of the design is well.... Forrest Gump simple. I also shot my AR but everyone remarked at the shards of wood exploding out of the back of the home made target stand the 5.45 produced. |
