I just got a Saiga and I want to upgrade it. It has been converted, but does not have a threaded barrel or bolt hold open. The first upgrades I am doing will be a quad rail and a SOCOM stock. I have considered sending it off and for $1400+ can have the barrel threaded, quad rail, 20 round drum, flash hider, back plated welded in, bolt hold open installed, safety stop installed, Tromix or ACE folding stock, refinish gun and reliability check. Some of these things I'm not sure about.

Would it be better to have the back plate welded in or use the ACE receiver block. Does anyone have pics of the ACE block installed and how sold is this? I have also seen two different receiver blocks, one that bolts in from the tang and trigger screw and one that uses the four lower pins. Which is better to use?

Has anyone here have first hand experience ordering from CHAOS? I like their quad rail and it's on sale, but I have read stories about them screwing people on orders. What other quad rail options do I have? (I have seen the Mississippi Auto Quad Rail)
When installing a quad rail, how do you remove the sight rail?

Does ADCO thread Saiga 12 barrels? I also was wondering about doing a 16.5" with perm'ed Tromix Shark Break, would this be legal on a shotgun?

Do the steel weld in plate. I have seen a few aluminum ACE blocks strip the stock screw holes over time from the pounding of a S12. And as long as your total barrel length is 18" or better, your fine. The break or FH would have to be permanently attached.

Are you having this done by Alliance Armament by chance? This sounds like one of their tag lines.

If it is them I'd advise to stay the hell away from them. They have some serious business ethics issues and it all played out on Saiga-12.com, particularly during the development of Mike Davidsons 20 round drum. By all accounts Alliance's drum is complete crap and the only way they seem to work with a Saiga is by tuning your gun to their drum...via the 'reliabiity service'. They have a rep for taking an out of the box Saiga and making it only able to function with their products, plus they were just sh*tty on the forums to Mike when he was coming out with his drum. They lost me as potential customer just from that alone.

Avoid them if at all possible
