Can someone explain the definition of a slap trigger?  I saw it mentioned in an ad.

Trigger slap is where the trigger hits your finger during reset.

Most of the guys on youtube shooting AKs that can't hit shit? That's because they're slapping the trigger. BSW

Where Century's crappy designed trigger system(not all Centurys are so afflicted) has enough forward kick during reset to make your finger flat ass sore after x amount of shots.

I fired an SAR-1 of a buddy's about 30 shots worth and it had a horrible, hurtful trigger! I understood then exactly what 'trigger slap' was!

Apparently, Century saw the light...or had enough AK's returned for repairs of the affliction, they started installing Tapco triggers. My WASR-10 has a Tapco setup in it from the factory, and it may just have the best trigger of all my semi-auto military style rifles.

Century's last generation of fcg didn't have any slap, but the 10+# trigger pull was almost enough to make up for that lack. Once you'd fired about 100 shots your finger hurt enough that you gave up.

Wouldn't that be not enough trigger (time) slap?

Like the others have said, it's the trigger slapping your finger when it resets.
And you don't see it much any more unless it's an older Century rifle, they stopped using the really cheap triggers years ago.

Google search for "WASR trigger slap".

You can't really talk about it until you experienced it yourself.

Every couch commando that's been at the local indoor range or on the internet knows about it.  You'll know too.

It's like the 1000 yard stare.  Everyone that's been in the shit has it.

A "SLAP trigger" is an ultra rare FCG that was used by Century on some of their elite guns that were intended to be sold to professional operators only. Because of my status as a Space Shuttle Doorgunner Reservist I was able to get permission to buy one. I later swaped it out with a G2 trigger set after I was showing Chuck Norris some new moves I invented and the ATF started to give me a hastle about the combination of my deadly skill-set and the SLAPtrigger being considered intent to create a DD. I still have the Century SLAP Trigger parts (trigger, hammer, sear). If you are interested, I could sell them to you (without papers of course) for $500 and I will pay for the shipping. IM me for payment instructions (cash in a plain envelope sent to my mother's PObox works best for me).

BTW- SLAP stands for Special Law enforcement & Army Professionals

Also, please don't mention this to StephenNW. He is just jealous that I hang out with Chuck Norris and jam with Ted Nugent and likes to talk trash about me on the webz.

I thought a "slap trigger" was calling your girlfriend by the wrong name or something like that...

There are two "slap triggers".

One is an AK trigger that due to the shape of the disconnecter, tends to snap forward during firing and trigger reset, and snaps forward so hard it "slaps" your trigger finger, often painfully after a few rounds.
This is usually due to the use of a poorly modified full auto disconnecter, and was common on older Romanian WASR type rifles.

The second type refers to "slapping" a shotgun trigger, versus squeezing a rifle trigger.
When the gun is swung on a moving target, the finger is held OFF the trigger, then the trigger is quickly pulled by a quick pull or "slap" with the pad of the trigger finger.
