Well I am on the list at both MarColMar and ORF for a Bulgy 74. MarColMar seems a little more appealing to me (NoDak receiver), but it is a full $250 more than ORF.

I have a feeling people out there are happy with either ORF or MarColMar so we'll see...

P.S. Does ORF parkerize their rifles?

My ORF sidefolder is on a nodak, while my full stock is on an armory.

I think all of their sidefolders use nodak's  They build a fine rifle.  I have two ORF's, a vector RPK74, and two Kreb's builds.  The ORF's fit in just fine.

Yes, its pretty black for a park job though.

Nothing like gunkote, but definitely a black park.

My ORF AKS-74 is on a NoDak receiver as well, however it's not the one with the PG reinforcement plate if that matters to you.

It's well built, straight and is parked. The park makes a good surface for gunkote, duracote, etc. I chose a wood/sidefolder kit; it was well wore but still shoots well. I'm thinking the poly ones are probably in better shape being newer and all.

I have two ORFs. One is a sidefolder, the other is straight stocked. Both are wood. Both are a little rough.

The finish is okay, but the folder is really difficult to fold. I had to use some sort of hard object to push that button in and couldn't do it manually. Finally, got it broken in now. The buttstock fit is a little off on the other rifle. Both are fully functional without a hiccup, but you may be disappointed on overall fit / finish.

On the other hand, I had the opportunity to inspect a number of MarColMar rifles at a local gunstore last weekend, and all I can say is "wow." These things are nice. The sidefolders worked with ease and overall fit and finish was fantastic. All were beauties in black polymer.

If price isn't an issue, I'd go MarColMar. They'll make for fine collector pieces that exceed Arsenals. If your purpose is purely for defensive or plain plinking, ORF may be the way to go.

Out of curiosity, what are they charging for both? The MarColMar's were approx $1250 at the shop I visited (West Coast Armory in Issaquah, WA).

I think buying anything from ORF is a high risk endeavor.  Todd isn't exactly known as an upstanding member of the community.

With the NDS the only fully heat treated receiver on the market, why would you consider anything else?

While I haven't bought anything from MalcoMar myself, I've transferred some very nice stuff for customers.

Oh wow, do I dare ask what happened? Anyway, I did pay for a Marcolmar in advance so that's what I'll be getting!

Now for a Krinkov...ugh.
