Though some students of the Yugo variants have their particular definition of the M64 and the M70, generally those two have different receivers. The M64 has a milled receiver (your choices are gong to be limited on finding a receiver - and expensive), the M70 having the "RPK"-style stamped receiver (although some have flat-sided receivers).
The M92 is the "Krinkov" style shortened rifle and folks usually must get them with the faux silencer to enable a legal barrel length but often buy them to make them SBR's later. If you're looking for the standard, common Yugo AK, the M70 is probably your way to go. Here's some great builds from folks doing all Kalashnikovs that are Yugos - many are labeled so you can see the differences: http://www.theakforum.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=71 |

Do a search for "re-welds / reweld" for more information. There is a builder here, turbothis, that does the work. |

Quoted: the m64 receiver is cut in half anyways, so therefore i need to buy a new one Do a re-weld build. Matt Yeaman comes highly recommended: Link |

why cant u use a stamped receiver with a m 64 parts kit A stamped receiver employs a front trunion to hold the barrel and a rear block to hold the buttstock. The front trunion and rear block are riveted into the stamped receiver. A rifle with a milled receiver does not have a trunion or a rear block. The barrel and buttstock attach directly to the milled receiver. A M64 kit will not have a trunion or rear block but will likely have the original front and rear milled receiver stubs. There are two ways to build a milled receiver kit with a stamped receiver: 1. obtain the trunion and rear block, turn down the threads of the barrel and assemble, 2. machine down the original milled receiver stubs to the shape of a trunion and rear block and assemble, There are two other avenues for building the M64 kit: 1. obtain a milled receiver (probably the barrel threads will have to be turned down) and assemble as a press and pin 2. obtain a middle section and reweld to the original receiver stubs.
