Now that Obama's in office what are you all predicting the price of your average Romanian AK to jump to? I remember not too long ago you could get one for around $400....now they're hovering around $600.

Also, if and when a new assault weapons ban is enacted, how exactly would that affect private sales of such weapons. I realize I'm probably a little late with this idea, but I was thinking of buying a handful of Romanian AK's for around $600 each right now and holding them until the value went up. But would I even be able to sell them later on down the road?

I would think that the value will stabilize over time as the Dems do nothing about gun control. The economy is way too terrible to be worrying about guns and the gun craze has proven how many people are concerned with their 2nd amendmant rights. I do not see an AWB law coming anytime soon. Look how many Dems signed the document against the DC law. A bunch and supporting gun control legislation is a good way to get thrown out of office, especially the Southern Dems.

You might want to buy up any $600 AKs you see because I haven't seen one going for any less than $900 out here.
That might be why they are still on the rack, but thats what they are asking.

Romanian AK's in my area (D-FW Texas) are in the $699 range...

Sure the Dems - may or may not do something regarding a permanent ban on Assault Weapons -

My prediction:
After Obamoo is in office for 2 years - He will mention "Common sense gun laws" on TV and there will be a panic the likes that
you and I have never seen,,,

People will be paying $2000 + for Romanian AK's

Magazines will be $100 $150 + each

J&G advertised WASR10's for $489.95 in a flyer they sent me about a week ago with my Hotshot order. I recently (about three weeks ago) bought a NIB Romanian GP-1975 from a friendly local dealer for $479.95 so there are some half-way reasonable AK's out there for sale. You just gotta find 'em.

Generally speaking, stay away from most gunshows if you're looking for a deal on an AK. Most of the sellers are buying their AK's from the big distributors out of ads from publications like the Shotgun News then jacking up their price for a nice profit. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's only capitalism after all. If you want to save some money, locate the AK that you want from one of those large distributors, order it by phone or online and pay for it by CC, and find a local FFL who will receive it and do the transfer for you for a reasonable fee.

Dems already sent a letter to Obama demanding that he start enforcing the 922r laws.

those days are over. The fact is that cheap kits meant that you could build your own for about $200, or buy a commercilly built rifle for a bit more. Now a kit costs $300+. The lack of a cheap alternative allows the manufacturer, importer and retailer to raise the price, which they have.

Romy kits that were unfired new condition sold for $100.......2 years ago.
now the price seems to be around $300.

polish underfolders.........were $239 are now 550+

unless the democrats are so busy with the George W. Hoover depression left in the white house,  most opinions seem to indicate doubling of current prices.

hang on tight and let your ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE in Washington now how you feel about the 2nd Amendment.

You could buy up a few "problem guns" for cheap and spiff em up.

Anyone who doesn't have AT LEAST an EBR , Defensive Shotgun, and a good autopistol
by now deserves to be Fleeced.

My fear is that now AK's will be deemed to by constructed of "unobtaineum"....meaning you won't be able to get them anymore.

If they lockdown like that HR45 or whatever that piece of crap legislature is, you will see everyone holding their hand and the supply dry up to nothing...as it IS already doing...

Your right. I have several AK's and I was offered 3K for my polish underfolder. People are dying for good AK's.

Question.... does that apply if we aren't yet 21? I would own a good pistol, except that I can't (yet)

I can't tell, I tried to sell a new mak 90 and didn't even get a nibble. I did ask $700 though.
