I have a question, I was going to add a slant type muzzle break to my MAK90 (yes, good on parts count).  I was going to do a very small tac weld to hold it on, however being that the slant breaks are either rotated to the right or left side, what side should I tac it?  I was thinking maybe just strait up and down?

I would say, if you are just gonna tack it then do whatever you want... but if you want to do it right install it with one of the grooves of the brake facing up!

Boy I'm glad I didn't waste post 5000 on this....

Dont these breaks have to be "permanent"?  What other ways are ATF approved?

If you are trying to install it so it looks  proper, the groove on the bottom should be at 5 o'clock when you're facing the muzzle.

No, they don't need to be permanent, the assault weapon ban ended in 2004.
