I'm looking to pick up a couple AKs....and am familar with the AR world most. What AKs are considered the "best"? I've heard Romanian and Bulgarian, but I just don't know what to look for when I'm buying one. Any help is great...

Bulgarian and Chinese make guns are considered the best.  If you're looking for something nice and tight stay away from Romanian guns, they are the Oly Arms of AKs (they'll work but leave you wanting something better)

Keep your eyes open for Arsenal brand guns.

If price is no object, preban milled Norinco, or Milled MAK 90 is probably the way to go. The stamped Norinco's are nice too. Any other milled is a good bet.  Bulgarian, Arsenal etc...

How about a Russian built one?  Look for a Vepr or go to Krebs Custom Rifles.
