Shady people as well LINK

Make sure to ask for pix and ask lots of obvious/stupid questions.  Peope will do what ever it takes to scam ya out your hard earned money.

Questions
1.Are the parts in the picture for the same caliber advertised?
2.Has the Barrel been tampered with or chopped?
3.Am i buying what was advertised and not just assorted parts?

Well thats my experience, but Copes and Kvar kick ass!!!!!  I love the kit i bought from COPES

There are no more.  The days of parts kits are over.  I haven't bought a kit since they were 90 bucks a pop for pristene romanian g kits.

The ATF shut down small builders on a whim, and that's how it will stay.

$90 ?!??!?!  holy crap!  I'd be happy with paying a couple times that.  ok, not 'happy' just not totally infuriated.

quicksilver, thanks for the offer, but I think the virgin kits are a little intimidating for us novices.  I have a 'WTB' posting in the EE so maybe I'll get lucky.

I think there are enough AK type weapons on the market beween home builders and retail bought...we don't need to worry about the supply of AKs.  Though the prices will flucuate a bit.

Several for sale on gunbroker.com, but, as with anywhere, let the buyer beware.

Yeah, the kits themselves are going for ~325, which is what it used to cost to buy a complete AK.  You used to be able to buy used WASR's for 250 all the time, double stack, not the single stack ones all the time.  Now people are paying 600-700 dollars for those piles.  It's just insane.

I remember back in the day I got a pristene romy g kit, a 20 round magazines, 2 cleaning kits, and a sling, all for something like 70 shipped.  So you'll understand why I'm not willing to pay current prices.  I have plenty of AK's, my days of buying kits are over.

Remember bocerforus (sp?). Never issued A MD 65 kits for about $70. Think he charged $10 more for 63's. Another $3 per mag. He sold a ton on EE. Prices were already going up then. Krink kits were $700. All with barrel of course.

Yep, Bocefus.  He's the guy I got the 70 dollar pristene kit and accessories from.  He's a real stand up guy.

I got a Krink from him for $425 and I thought it was a bit high but he's a great guy to get kits from.

I have a few romanian non-G military kits from 1965 and 1967 in perfect condition (look unfired). Only problem is that some parts are not matching but all from the same batch. Also a really nice bending jig with a few flats. I was planning on list on EE, pm if interested for pics.

It wasn't a whim. The thought of people building AKs in their homes on flats and blanks made the gov't types blood run cold. Alberto Gonzalez (the man who brought us the warrantless wiretap) banned the importation of barrels as a way to put a stop to such "subversive" activity.
