I was just at the local gun show and there were two red, side folding, triangular stocked, all wood furniture including the grip AKs marked as Lancasters. I'm still new to AKs, so it is hard to judge. They looked OK, but the furniture was not nearly as nice as my Lancaster Polish underfolder (they had a plywood grip), the bolt wasn't chromed, and they were marked model #3941 and were priced at $1,000.

I came home to check them out on Lancaster's site, but couldn't find anything about Model #3941 or triangular side folders. What I did find was a warning about counterfeit Lancasters.

Do any of you Lancaster experts have an opinion on these that you would share based on my description?

Thanks,

Kerry

Didn't know anyone chromed AK bolts other than the Classic Arms rifles that were sent out to be completely chromed.

Do you mean an in the white bolt carrier?

that doesnt sound like a lancaster at all, unless someone had their kit sent in to be built by them.

I probably have the terminology wrong, but yes, when I look through the ejection port on my Lancaster, everything is silver, not black.

I would say contact them with a serial number and ask them if it was one they built.  They first came on the scene a few years back here in AZ they didn't have in the white bolt carriers on Polish underfolders.

A friend of mine just got a new wooden stocked Lancaster and it's bolt carrier had the bolt in the white.  Don't get why they're doing that...

Don't know, they started it about a year ago as far as I know.  The website shows most but not all of their rifles are that way.

PLEASE NOTE:

AGAIN THERE ARE GUNS SHOWING UP WITH  THE LANCASTER NAME AND ARE NOT OUR GUNS! Call 623 877 4356 to verify if the rifle is authentic.

UNLESS IT SAYS LANCASTER, MADE IN GOODYEAR ,ARIZONA ONLY. IT IS NOT A LANCASTER !
