After sneeking around in this area of  ar15.com I have learned that AK'S are not as cheap and easy to find as I have previously thought. OK here goes, I am a long time AR owner and have ZERO experience with AK'S. I am looking to buy a NEW decent quality AK in what I believe to be the "original look"  No scope, not tacked out, wood furniture. I found a web site for lancaster arms and I found the one I want.

Standard Blond  Mod # 3060B Military Grade wood finish

729.00 is about 400 dollars more than I thought these rifles were selling for, but these are the times I guess. None of my local stores have them. Is this a good buy? Does the extra 300.00 dollars justify a milled reciever?  I am not the type to go out and burn thousands of rounds through this, just to use it once and a while. I really think I want it just to have it a part of my collection. I think these rifles have tremendous history value and I simply respect them.

If your going to spend a lot of money go ahead and get the milled receiver.

If your going to get the stamped receiver get a folder.
