So yeah, got my WASR-10, with a dragunov stock... came with brown leather sling, I assume romanian since the rifle was NIB, and.... I must be a fool but I can't for the life of me get it on. I'm probably missing something stunningly obvious and will feel like an utter fool, but how is this supposed to work? I'll even include pics of sling and rifle.

In the FAQ tacked thread you will find a very informative website. The useful information in this website answers quite a few questions you may have. Here is the link to the sling installation page. Look around that website and thank Linx310 for his expertise when you see him.

That's kinda what I figured to do, but my snap won't fit through the buckle. ..... WTF?

it will, you have to fiddle with it.

try rotating it as you thread it through.

Yeah, the never really fit, you've just got to jimmy it through.

I removed the snap and fed the loop through.  Then reattached the snap.  Easy peesy!

Got it. Took ten minutes of finagling with pliers but I squeezed it through. I was more comfortable trying to force it once I knew I was forcing it through the right place haha
