Just bought a Poly Tech AKS762 as new in box this is the one with the choate stock and is marked poly tech on the receiver.....for $550 OTD...Is that a reasonable buy....Ive owned Hungarians MAK-90s Bulgarians Yugosolvians this is my first Poly tech....is that a good price?\

Sounds like a steal! Poly Techs around here(florida) are in the 1200 price range.

you have one of the post ban Polytech sporters brought in during the Klinton era (or caught in customs during Bush 1's ban on imports can't remember)

Kyimports had tons of these for $450 IIRC about 8-9 years ago.

So considering the crazy panic buying going on in the last 48 hours $550 is a pretty damn good deal for an original factory built Chi-com AK.

Personally I'd just leave the Choate furniture on there and shoot the hell out of it.  You have that exc+ quality original chi-com trigger group in there, why trade it out for a crappy US set?

I've got two of these, they are great rifles.  I've replaced the fire control group on both, keep the original groups, and I can't tell hardly any difference between the original and the Tapco G2 group.  Nice score!!  Congrats!
