I am looking to mount a forward grip on my AK and that is all I will be mounting, but all I can find are tri rail systems.  Does anyone know of any single rail lower handguards?  It seems like a bit of overkill to put 3 or 4 rails on a gun that will only have one thing mounted to it.

You could use a Romanian "dong" VFG handgaurd or one from an AMD-65.

I think CAA makes a plastic handgaurd with rail along the bottom and two short removable rails on each side.

I did a search and found this

is this what you were talking about for AMD-65 handguard?  It is pretty much exactly what I am looking for but I am not sure where to find one like that or even what to look for.  He says it is an 5.9" M-4 rail, but I didnt think that M-4 parts will go on an AK.  If you can help please let me know.  Thanks.

That's an AMD-65 handgaurd but the guy added the rail himself. I'm sure he either modified the handgaurd, or the rail, or both to fit.

This is what a stock AMD-65 handgaurd looks like:

The first two options I listed don't have a rail, they have an integral VFG instead.

OK.  I am not looking to get an integral VFG, I will be mounting a folding one so right now it looks like the CAA is the best option.  Thank you for the help Chris.  If there is anyone else that knows of something like what I am looking for your help would be appreciated.
