[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Hand gaurd question

I just recently refinished the hand gaurds on my yugo M70 underfolder. They look real nice now. But I was wondering do I need to worry about the heat from shooting the gun? I used to bump fire it alot and the hand gaurds would get hot. Would that ruin the new finish?

I used minwax stain and polyurethane.

Unlikely. However if you practice mag dumps until the handguards burst into flames it will probably harm the finish.

It will cause the finish to bubble if you get them way hot.
