I just attended the Houston Gun Show Saturday and saw enough AR's to outfit a small army, that and glocks by the truckload. I saw very few AK's and even less AK accessories and when I asked anyone if they had any AK accessories they seemed to treat me like I was voting for Obama. What gives do the locals here hate commie made guns?![]() |

AK stuff at HGCA and High Caliber has been dwindling over the years and there seems to be less and less of it all the time. The only company that ever appears to have anything other than WASR's or Saiga's is Elk River Tool and Die, but thats about it...the guy who used to sell Arsenals is long gone and there don't seem to be any other builders doing custom work. I think HGCA is a little bigger and maybe a little more Fud oriented than High Caliber, and though most of the vendors are the same in both HGCA seems to be a little more hunting based rather than being a gunshow, if that makes sense. I've definately met a few anti AK types at the shows and its definately an AR driven group, but its not anti commie guns, its just more pro AR/hunting rifles than anything else. It sounds like you just moved here, if so, welcome to H-Town Z |

Naw, not new here, lived here most of my life, just not been doing AK's until this year so wasn't paying attention. The one good thing was you could join the NRA for $25.00 and get a free $8.00 admission and a spiffy NRA hat to boot. To be fair I did see some good deals on AR's, but it seems the internet has better deals than the shows nowadays, ya just don't get to touch it before buying when going internet. The pink pistols were a bit nausating though |
