except where the Krylon is chipping away.

come on man, it's got such potential.  Looks like it was a fairly unmolested kit.  Give it the love it deserves with a proper finish.

Not too be too harsh but I agree about the paint chips.

What finish is it and how did you prep?

I think it looks great.

The painted finish (including the flaws) combined with the original furniture gives it a very authentic look. I love that red PG.

did you heat it up before spraying and bake it on at the right temp/time after it dried?

the top cover and everything turned out great it just didnt take on some parts of the receiver. i probably should have had a little more patience while doing it.

Don't sweat it.

It still looks a hundred times nicer than the "bulk builds" the major builders put out.

Judging by the fact that the paint is messed up around the rivets, I'd say it wasn't degreased as well as it should be. Oil loves to hide in those little nooks and crannies.

True that.

+1 on the degreasing.  the gloss around the peel is a telltale sign.  If you warm it up (120-150*) and then hose it down with brake cleaner (repeat as necessary), you should be good to go.

i kind of dont want to redo it, its got that used look to it. something like you would see in the hands of a cold war era conscript. i got the battlefield pick up look by accident.
