I have worked dilligently for two days, and I have the sore and sliced fingers to prove it! While upgrading a friend's Norinco MAK-90, the pivot pin for the magazine catch somehow got loose and fell part way out. While trying to line everything back up, the pin popped out and the spring and catch went flying. I knew I was in trouble, but I didn't realize how much. All the parts were recovered from the carpet, BUT I cannot get the spring, catch, and pin back together and I've tried just about everything. Does anyone know how to re-assemble that thing? I have scoured the net and found no help at all....I can't be the first guy to have this problem.....?

Use a vice to compress the legs of the spring. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES/GOGGLES CUZ THAT BASTARD WILL TRY TO PUT YOUR EYE OUT! AND IT CAN!

Now that the legs of the spring are compressed, slip a nylon cable tie over the legs to keep them that way.

Install the catch, spring and rivet. Once the rivet has had it head formed, slip a knife into the recess and cut the cable tie. Pull out the cable tie with pliers. BSW
