I want to run a forward grip on my ak as far back on the rail system as it goes. This would make mag changes impossible with a regular grip, so I was looking into a stubby, like the tangodown one. I would rather not spend $60 on a grip that goes on a UTG rail system. Any alternatives that anyone knows will let the mag clear it? It's for a 5.45 ak not a 7.62, so the mags are a lot straighter. Or alternatively, if anyone knows of a shorter, fixed stock option for the AK, that would work too. |

Yeah, the CAA is pretty short, I don't think it's TD stubby short, but it's short. You might be able to cut down one of another make (if it's not the type that has the clamp screw that goes all the way through) if you're so inclined. The Romanian dong-style handgaurd with VFG should work fine, too, but of course you'd have to remove the rail system. LOL @ "turdferguson".
