Are Dragunovs any good? Worth the money? Know a guy selling one with 5 mags and 825 rounds of ammo for $975.

Are you speaking about the Romanian FPK/PSL rifles or the Dragunov SVD (Russian SVD and Chinese NDM-86) rifles?  I presume the Romanian judgng by the price.  It's a fun rifle.  But it really doesn't matter because both are fine weapons.

Ask for clarification, no one will sell you a dragunov for 825, this "guy" means PSL, a Romanian copy.  They are good for the money, just remember you get what you pay for, and a good Norinco NDM-86(Chinese copy) will go for 2500-3500 depending on condition/accessories/scope.

(Cough cough BS)

The PSL will work the same for accuracy, reliability, weight, durability and balance as an NDM or a real Russian SVD.

As long as you stick with light ball ammo.

It is more accurate with Light ball anyway.

I'm currently drilling my PSL's gas block for a ported allen screw.  I'll be able to turn the gas down for heavy ball.  (Smaller hole in screw)  Or off (no hole) for a little more accuracy.

I should have the mod finished next weekend when I'll have access to a drill press.

After that I plan to remove the factory hand guards and retaining plates to install a free float tube of my own design I'm bending out of sheet metal.

Should make it look like the receiver is "stretched" out out to the gas block when I'm done.
