I'm working on installing the FCG in my Romy G build. I have an Arsenal single-hook, as well as a Tapco G2 double-hook that my friend bought. I've been switching parts around between the two sets because the disconnector won't usually release the hammer (which I'll probably end up fixing with a dremel), but no matter what I use, one problem seems to remain the same-- the trigger won't return forward because the hammer spring isn't caught on the back of the trigger. Here is a picture for reference: http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/4834/0816081414ob9.th.jpg As you can see, I've bent the spring inwards on both sides a bit to make it catch, but it still goes past the back of the trigger. Does anyone know how to fix this, aside from buying a new FCG and hoping for the best? While I'm posting about FCGs, I have a question about using E-Clips. I've decided that my shepherd's hook with a coil spring is too clumsy, so I'm going to go out and buy some 3/16" E-Clips. But how are they installed? I can't see how they would secure anything. |
| Yes, that is the case in the picture, hence my question about the E-clips. But even when it is snapped into place, the hammer spring still seems to be too long. In fact, one of the reasons that the axis pin keeps coming out of place is that the hammer spring ends push it around since they aren't on the trigger. |
