My 1st AK and I'm pretty hyped. The rifle from what the dealer told me was NIB but it shows some wear in the areas where it's common. More than likely, people molesting it... I was surprised that it didn't come w/ the cleaning kit and the sling. I contacted the dealer, KTTK Enterprises (www.kymtec.com) and they told me to "go fuck yourself." Apparently, the price of $699.99 + $21.57 for credit card usage and $20 for shipping was incorrect. I had asked a few times if the price I was quoted was correct before they charged my credit card. The response I got was yes. The only downside was the box it came in was messed up. No worries. Now the dealer is claiming that I defrauded them. They claim I knew the correct price they had listed on a site called Sturmgewehr.com. I advised I was given a number to call b/c I had been inquiring about where to get a SLR 106FR that was in stock and in a good price. Out of spite and simply wanting to blame someone else for their mistake, they are withholding the cleaning kit and the sling. I was informed I could pay $60 to get them or "go fuck yourself." Hopefully the lady I spoke to at Arsenal would be able to hook me up. Any way, thought I share my experience with this outfit out of Mesquite, Nevada. |
That's pretty brazen... I guess the correct answer is: 'No, you go fuck yourself, I paid with a credit card and the CC company WILL do a chargback.' BSW |

Wow. I want to hear more details about your transaction. How did you two get to the point where he said "go F yourself"? The price you paid for a SLR-106 sounds about right. What happened? Regardless, the dealer's attitude towards his customer (you) is absolutely uncalled for. Most educated buyers frequent sites like Arfcom, the Gunsnet forums, Lightfighter, Akforum.net, etc, and if this guy uses this kind of language with a customer he's only going to be selling to complete newbies who haven't done any homework. Basically, he's fucked. |

Tom (probably the owner) just went ape shit. Our conversation lasted at max, 3 minutes. He strongly believes I ripped him off somehow. When I asked him and the lady he handed the phone over to complete my transaction about the price and they reply, it's correct, what else am I suppose to do or say? In his mind, I committed fraud. How? Beats the hell out of me. Maybe I shouldn't have use the referral to contact him. Now, I gotta waste my time by contacting the credit card company then order the missing parts from K-Var. |
If I'm understanding this correctly, you're going to ask the credit card company to hold off on a portion of the overall credit card charge? I'd personally be surprised if they held back the equivelent of the missing parts from charge. The CC company gets a myriad of fraud cases and they'll most likely want to nix the entire charge altogether, rather than to try and piece-meal or breakout what you feel you're missing. This is speculation on my part, but highly likely, as I've dealt with this a of couple times with stolen cards. Sincerely, I wish you the best on this. These guys sound like serious a-holes and its a horrible way to begin your experience with AKs. That said, now that you have it, shoot the hell out of it and have a blast!!! [pun intended] |

Yup, that's exactly what I am going to do. I wonder what the reason behind on not being able to give partial credit w/ some credit card companies. I guess I'll find out if mine is the same. Could you imagine the shit storm over in Mesquite, Nevada if this nutjob finds out I got credited the entire amount. I'd like to see that! But, to me, it's all about principle. I paid a total of $740.57 for the NIB Arsenal SLR-106FR and I ain't paying a penny more or penny less. ***Update 07/08/08: Contacted Tom at Kymtec one last time before submitting a charge dispute w/ the credit card company. Seems like he had a change of heart from the last time we spoke. He advised he is waiting K-Var to send out the missing items and will ship it when it comes in sometime next week. He added he would contact me on Tuesday, 7/15/08 to update me.*** |
