Let me start by saying that Gary at Overland Industries has exceeded my expectations on some recent builds. He took on five of my builds and I couldn't be happier. I will let the pics speak for themselves. Here are four of the five. I will add the pic of the Yugo Fixed AK next week. I had to use a new receiver because Vulcan Arms blows balls. Gary is incredibly patient and produces the finest work IMO. He tailors the build to what you want, which is a definate plus in my book.

There was a tiny misunderstanding on time. Gary was really busy and was taking on builds by himself with little to no help. After I called a few months into him having the kits, he realized that they were sitting there for too long. Gary immediately completed all the builds that weekend and I had them in hand in like five or six days. Gary sent a box full of goodies to reimburse for the time lost, which really amazed me.

Gary is a man of his word and I would not hesitate to give him business again. If I have another ak built, it is definately going down to Lake Havasu's finest builder. He has repeatedly told me that his main concern is customer satisfaction. That goes for customer interaction and build success.

I am definitely going to give Overland my business and have them build my two AKs. People like Gary should get most of the business from ARFCOMers because it would really suck for a guy like that to run out of business and how good of a job he does on AKs for the amount he charges.

I cant say enough good things about Overland.  Gary goes above and beyond simply great business practices.  He is an excellent person.

Garry does great work, doesn't he. I had him build me a Yugo, and I actually used a Vulcan receiver. It took alot of work, but it actually runs 100% now. Garry has some of the best cutomer service in the business.

I have a Romy G and a Polish UF from Overland.  Awesome customer service and first rate workmanship is business as usual for Gary.  Gary is the man.

I had my Tantal built my Overland, and outside the epoxy'ing of the selector and safety together, I couldnt be happier.

I have a couple more receivers and kits to send his way.

Gary, is probably the nicest and easiest builder to talk to on the phone. He has my AK74U kit right now and I can't wait to see his work firsthand. I wish I would have found him before when I was looking for a builder to do my M92.

What kind of turnaround time should I expect if I go with Overland?

Gary at Overland is currently building my Bulgy AKS-74U krink in 5.45 and he indicated that he has an approximate 6 week turnaround.  I should have mine back in a week or so.  So far I have seen nothing but great builds and positive feedback from everything that comes out of his shop.  He also does engraving which is nice for SBR info. and nomenclature, selector markings etc.

Cheers

Those are real nice builds.  It almost gives me the desire to build another AK.

What was wrong with the Vulcan receivers??  I heard they suck, what happened?

Anybody got a picture of his engraving?

This is Charlie from Overland, I seen the posting about engraving and am going to put in my .02 cents worth. We do selectoer and factory markings for all of the known countries, 2 different Russian, Romy, Yugo, China, N. Korea, Poland etc. Also notches for the detents, custom SBR and select fire markings, Caliber markings on barrels, Colt firearm markings along with custom work on most anything. There is examples in the gallery at the Overland Plating website,( www.overlandplating.com ) of just a few of the choices. For info or quotes contact [email protected]
