| Are their any registered/transferable pre 86 ak 74's? What would the feasibility be of amending a current registered 47 (7.62x39) paper work and then taking out the 7.62 parts and installing the 5.45x39 parts? |
I heard there were a few registered 74s before 86. There have been a few people that did a full auto 5.45 krink on a registered 47 receiver. I am not sure of the Vendor that did one of the conversions but its on their website. |

More to the point, are there 5.45 barrels which fit in the trunnions which work with a registered receiver? I know that Chinese AKs were available prior to '86. I can't recall whether Yugos were available then or if they first came in later. Will a 5.45 barrel fit either of those trunnions? |
They drop in a complete Bulgarian or Russian kit on the reciever. They don't even mess with the old Chi Com crap. |
probably a dumb question from a person who has never built an ak. Is it possible to pop out the old 7.62x39 parts kit and pop in a new 5.45 kit, or will the trunnions not fit the receivers? |

I sure the mag well is cut differently also. Why don't you ask this guy where he got his full auto 74 from?? |
|
the main difference would be the lower rails, primarily the ejector rail. The rest of the reciver is nearly identical (trunnions are the same if both are for non 1.5mm stamped recievers), the magwell might be slightly different. Hk sears and AR15s can be registered for multiple calibers, I dont see that being an issue |
Are you suggesting that someone changes the front trunnion (which contains the serial number) on a NFA weapon? |
wtf over?
|
Holy shit.
