Has anybody seen one yet?? Read an article about it today and it looks ok but I don't think it will take regular AK mags...

If they were chambered in 5.45x39 I would be like white on rice.

No they don't use AK mags.

The only thing the same between the two rifles is the cartridge they fire.

The VZ-58 uses a different operating system than the AK.

I could be wrong, but it looks like the female VC sniper in the movie Full Metal Jacket is using a VZ-58.

I don't think I would want one if it's different from an AK.  AK's rule...oh yeah...

I've got one.  I love it.  It has handled every type of ammo I've fed it.  They aren't cheap but it sure does shoot nice.  Just found an online place selling 4 mags and a mag pouch for $60.  This is the only place I've ever seen the mags listed.

they are some of the most acurate comblock style rifles made, their operation is more akin to the FAL's than the AK's though.

I thought about buying one, especially with the parts kits being so cheap, but couldn't justify the mone when I could get an AK and mags cheaper.

I have a Ohio Ordnance VZ 2000 and 5 different AK's. AK's range from Bulgarian-Chinese-Russian-Yugo & an all American made, But by far the superior weapon is the VZ. Don't know why people call them AK varients because the only resembliance is the physical look from a distance. VZ 2000 has a milled receiver, chrome lined barrel a little shy of 16". A real nice trigger and more accurate than my Russian Vepr until you get out past 300 to 350 meters then the 5.56 Vepr takes it. Love my AK's but that little rifle rocks in royal fashion. Got 30 - 30 round mags for it so don't have to worry bout that but they are readily availiable from Centerfire Systems. Paid more for Bulgy waffles for my Vepr and my SLR 106 FR  than they cost and did I mention the VZ has a nice last round hold open? Love AK's and my AR's but these little rifles are nothing short of awsome........ Have a great day..
