Does anyone know what company they use to ship firearms?  My dealer was supposed to receive my AK on Thursday.  I am only about 90 miles from them.  It didn't show yesterday, so I called this afternoon and nothing.  Checked Classics website and they closed at noon today.

Dealer said his FedEx guy hasn't run yet, just hoping it might be with them.

So, which one did you buy and are you bringing it out to the Fort's range any time soon?

I'm not sure which shipper they use, but I want to give you an option I have been using with Classic since last year...if you don't mind the drive up to Charlotte, go through Eric (the guy Classic recommends). He lives pretty close to classic and will pick up the gun(s) for you and complete the transfers for $15/gun.

Let me give you an idea of how good this works:
1. 0900. Called Classic to confirm gun availability
2. 0901. Called Eric to inform him of purchase and set up a pick-up time with him
3. 0903. Called Classic back. Paid with credit card and confirmed Eric would do pick-up.
4. 1000. Eric picks up gun
5. 1130. I leave for Charlotte
6. 1300. Arrive at Eric's place. Complete paperwork.
7. 1315. Return to SC with gun and big smile.

Bought a Yugo fixed stock AK to go with my underfolder.  Since AIM ran out, figured I had better go ahead and pick one up before they were all gone.  You don't really see many of the B1's on the EE either.

My problem with Eric is the gas driving down there and a few other issues I have heard about.  I get $10 transfers here and the shipping is really cheaper than the gas.  Just talked to my dealer and it wasn't on the FedEx truck either.

I know they are slammed, but the guy I ordered would not tell me when it would ship, he would only say my dealer would have it on Thursday.  Now I am wondering if it has been shipped, or if its lost.

No shooting this weekend, have to wait till Tuesday.

The gas is indeed an issue, but I have accepted the tradeoff for the security of having a gun in my hands, quickly and, if there should be any problems, being close to Classic to have resolution. My car gets almost 30mpg too, so it's not too bad. Like I said, it's a tradeoff.

I have been fortunate in that I have not had any issues with Eric. He has done right by me so far.

That really sucks that your gun is MIA. I'd be pissed.

The M-70AB1 is REALLY nice. I have one and it's fantastic. Very well built. Solid. A good compliment to my underfolder too. You know it's not coming with a cleaning rod, right? I wish I had known about your purchase a few days ago because I just ordered a rod and some other stuff from KVAR. I could have ordered an extra rod.

Your dealer is very fair with only charging $10/transfer. I'd like to stick with Eric for the guns I need to have NOW, but I'd like a local source for other things I am willing to wait on and for handguns since Eric can't do that being in NC. Would you be able to ask him if he'd like some more business?
