I just got three rifles back from Gary at Overland Industries. I was pretty curious as to how they would turn out because two of the three kits were not in the greatest of shape.  I wish I had some before pictures. Gary really exceeded my expectations, and I will definately be sending him some more work soon.

The Yugo on top is built on a Vulcan receiver. I would have bought a NDS receiver if I had known the rifle would turn out this nice. It was a non-matching kit, and kind of rough.
The middle is a typical Romanian G on an NDS-3. The bottom one is a 1972 Romanian non-G and it also was a non-matching kit and a little rough.

This picture is a comparison of a few Arizona Builders. The top is a Lancaster Romy G. The middle is the Overland Romy G, and the bottom is an Arizona Response Systems Romy G. I'd say for the price, the Overland rifle compares pretty favorably.

Gary does awesome work.  I like everything about my Overland AKs.

I've never been really crazy about chrome plated rifles, but he had some that looked really nice. It kind of has me thinking about one of those. Anybody have one done by Overland?

Is it just me or do the hammer and trigger pins appear unfinised. I hope not because I just ordered a polish underfolder from Overland.

What?  You want the pins to be finished?  That would make it a "bad" build?  If you want them finished I bet all you have to do is tell Gary and he'll make it happen!

No, the pins are not finished. I just thought that might be a typical procedure for Gary. I like the way it looks, but I'm sure he will coat those also if you tell him to.

The pins shouldn't be finished.

I have a de-milled new Bulgarian AK-74 at Gary's right now, and I'm looking forward to getting it back and putting it through the paces.

What finish did you opt for?  Mine should be semi gloss black Norrel.

I have a kit with Gary right now too.  I'm really excited for it to be finished!  After that whole ordeal with Jnewt I'm just ready to get a functioning AK for a damn good price

I think the finish is Gun Kote flat black. For the wood, Gary called it a caramel stain with a polyurethane top coat.
