I tried posting another thread about this, but didn't get very many responses. I have a romanian ak74/ wasr-2. It shoots 5.45x39. It has a regular buttstock on it. I would like to replace it with a folder, not one of those wire-type folders, but the triangular kind. Does anyone know where I can find one, and if do, would it be a big task, as in modifying the reciever, or will it be something I can do on my own? Thanks you very much in advance, and well, I may wanna change out the pistol grip also. Thanks for reading, jason |

You can buy a stock from Ohio Rapid Fire You will have to make permanent modifications to your receiver. It can be done with a dremel. You can use the receiver stub that comes with the stock as a template. I did it several years ago with my Maadi without a template and it turned out fine. |

generally speaking the 74 style triangle folders are going to require you to do way more modification to your rifle than is worth it imho. it's going to require you to completely remove the rear tang that you have in your rifle and replace it with the one on the folder, tap a third rivet hole, as well as rerivet. http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=16694&cat=283&page=1 there is another stock that fits into the fixed stock tang that looks like the 74 folder (sort-of), but i dont remember where has it or anything. if you want a 74 folder, the best bet is to buy a 74 with one on it to start with. as for changing the pistol grip.. its a screw and about 2 seconds. |

KVAR has a triangle folder that will fit into the fixed trunnion w/o mods... KVAR Folder ![]() FSE (First Son Enterprises) used to make a fixed triangle-folder copy. |
