The first fire stop on your rifle is right where it's supposed to be. Unfortunatly it's only a semi reciever .

Why would anybody want a safety that can rotate beyond it's detent position?

The answer to that is, a full auto would have a second detent position down there.  Also an original receiver would not have the huge "S" and "F" markings that the NDS has.  Its a result of taking parts from a full auto gun from Europe and building a semi-auto American gun using them, on a US receiver.  If that's unacceptable to you, look for other receivers that don't have big "S" and "F" markings and put their detents so high.

Here's an original Russian AKMS receiver.  You only have the top detent because yours only goes bang bang and not rat a tat tat.

What I've done in the past for customers who've requested it (and on my personal PKMS just for kicks), is create a second detent down at the bottom very carefully by using a cutoff wheel on a dremel at low speed.  You need to know exactly where the button on the safety is located when its against the stop, which you can do by moving the safety up and down several times until it makes the inevitable long nasty scratch arc on the side of the receiver.  Where the scratch stops is where the button is located when the safety is bottomed out.  Cut a new detent there, try to make it shaped just like the others, and you'll have two detents down there, just like a full auto!  Wowee!  Anyway, some people think its neat and as a practical matter you'll have a detent to keep the safety in its position if you push it all the way down.  Pretty quickly you'll get used to ignoring the first detent altogether and pushing right past it, down to the safety stop.

Hope this helps.

If you don't like that, you can use an NDS-1 (the "premium" receiver).  It has NO detents and NO markings.  Then, as Duke Nukem suggested, you can put the detent wherever you want it.

Cutting a detent is easy with a Dremel.  Just choose a wheel and practice on some scrap receiver parts from your de-mil.

I have used a nds-3 and a ohio ordnance reciever and have to say the ohio ordnance was alot better all around. Just my opinion.
