I don't need one, I just want one, but do to my old eyes, it will need a receiver sight not the standard version. A good, basic version just a better rear sight. I'll stand back now and let you guys make your suggestions. |
| I am in the same situation. Want to get one while you still can. I've had an AR15 for several years and like it but want to get an AK. I see a couple at Atlantic Firearms, one is the ST2000 and the other a Russian Red which I really like. Anyone have any knowledge of these 2 please pass it on. Thanks !! |
| Years ago I outfitted my SKS Para with a Williams ghost ring or peep sight, replaced the the original rear sight. Drilled it out a bit. Works pretty well as an open sight for my 50+ eyes. I plan to go this route with my AK's too if available, as I can hardly see the slot in their rear blades. Optics of some sort are always nice, but I still want useable open sights too. |
| I saw a very nice set up at Knob Creek. It is a top cover with a low full length rail that attached to the rear sight block. It had an HK drum sight on the back of it. A very nice set-up. I don't know who was making it, It was installed on a pistol. I hope to get one when I go this year. By adding a low rail to a top cover you could make about the same thing. It would work on any ak. |
