Can you put an under folder on a Romanian SAR-1? If so, do you have to make any modifications to the rifle? Who might sell a stock that I might consider?

It would take some work. Rear tang block has to be replaced for the underfolding one, drill holes in the receiver for the underfolder mechanism. Weld up old rivet holes.

Sounds like the Romy side folder is the much easy route to take compared to modifying the receiver for an underfolder. I'll have to pick one up at the next gun show.

I am sure it can be done.

It would require some work & $100 of parts. I wouldn't personally tinker with a Sar-1.

Romainian Sar-1's will probably never be imported again.

If I really had to have an underfolder , I'd just sell the Sar-1 and buy a Yugo underfolder for about $439.
