i notice there is a lock nut of some sort in front of the front sight. is it possible to remove that nut and add a supressor?
anyone done this?

That nut keeps the front site tensioned, if you took it off the front site would be loose.
At least thats on real RPDs, I dont know about semi ones.

i was wondering about that, but the nut on mine is pinned. it actually has a bit of play on nut around the pin and isn't fully in contact with the site. i had assumed i'd need an adapter of sorts for the can anyway and that would take care of the nut issue.
