So I picked up an arsenal Single hook trigger group to put in my SAR-2 but here is the problem. I got the pin that holds the trigger with three taps from an punch but when I went to remove the pin for the hammer it wouldn't move....I tried getting a bigger hammer and nothing....so I tossed it up in the vice and put the punch on the other side to try and use the vice as a press but when I started turning it I could see the steel punch I was using bending....I'm out of ideas.....

I assume that you removed the sheperds hook or retaining plate?

Take the hammer in one hand and move it forward and back while pushing on the pin with your punch.  It is not very hard to get out (should NOT need a hammer) but some times it can be sticky because the hammer is putting pressure on the pin/hole.  Moving the hammer around usually lets the pin come right through.

If you aren't removing the shepard's hook wire that goes through the trigger and hammer pin slots you are doing something wrong.

Once the hook is out, do like I said above and move around the hammer while pushing on the pin with your punch.  It might take a light tap, like from the back of screw driver handle, but not a hammer style blow.

It should come out now.
