Hello I am sure this is in the wrong Forum but I thought this would be a good place for a SKS question. I am thinking about buying an SKS for range fun shooting. Now what are the rules concerning the number of parts to a gun to keep it legal? I saw & was thinking about installing one of the Tapco stocks on the SKS to give it a more modern look. The Tapco website has references about the stock being considered " Counts as 3 Sec 922r Compliant Parts" What does this mean? Thanks Kevin |
| Have a look here www.victorinc.com/SKS-FAQ.html It will tell you all you need to know about parts count. I personally have been down the "SKS Mod" road and to keep it legal, you will need enough parts that you might just consider getting an AK insted. You will spend nearly the same amount of money after you have modded your SKS. Modding an SKS is fun and a good leaning experience but a original SKS is fun to shoot as is and is a pretty cheap place to start for a rifle (carbine) in it's class. I still have my modded SKS but I am going to return it to original soon. I'll have a pile of USA made SKS parts to sell! Anyone interested? |
