Hello All,

Can you add a sidefolder, like a triangular "Kyber" type stock onto a standard
stocked Arsenal rifle?

That kind of folder requires modification to the receiver and installation of folding hardware, so yes you can, but it will require a gunsmith job to get it installed.

There are non folding versions that fit into the stamped receiver like any other stock though, so they will look the same but they just won't fold.

Then there are folding versions for stamped receivers that have all the mounting hardware on the 'outside', that is it pivots further back than if it were installed internally.

Also, Romanian wire folders fit into the stamped receivers without modification and do actually fold.

What about a milled receiver?

In order to do that you must permantly modify the reciver.

Cheap way would be to buy a parts kit and a Nodak reciver already cut
for the side folder.

Or dismantle yours and sell of the remaining receiver providing it is
undamaged other than the remaining rivet holes and then buy the Nodak
reciver...

There will still be minor fitting issues but if you can build an AK
It should be reletivly easy..

Edit..

The Firing Line in Oklahoma does sell milled recivers already modified
but alittle pricy compared to a cheap to produce stamped reciver.

I was just looking into buying one and its a normal stock.  I really think the SF would be cool and thought you could just add a different stock.  So I guess you need to buy an Arsenal rifle already set up from Arsenal as a SF.

Thanks,

I sent my Arsenal SLR105A1 off to JNewt enterprises to get it modified for the side folder, so if you're willing to spend a little more on your good rifle you can it modified just fine. Price was around $250ish IIRC.

That's really too much work to do on a milled receiver. I'm not saying it's not possible but it's entirely impractical. For the money you'd pay to do something like that, your better off just buying a milled receiver that's already cut for a folding stock and the hardware.
